Do you mean that all the files are touched, or only those that sync is updating? In the latter case, I think this is the role of the option "nomodtime" in the client definition. By removing it, I think the file would keep the date where they were last checked in.

We have some third party binaries that we checked into depot. Every time we run p4 sync, perforce updates the date and time of the binary file to the date and time p4 sync is run. Is there any option in perforce that lets me preserve date and time of the file (file creating time)? This would allow me to identify when the binary file was created so I could decide whether I need to update it or not.
