The reason of my talking about this is that previous mail server
(CommunigatePro) did what I sad: even if the address in header was
wrong, it accepted the message, but then sent bak error system message.
May be somebody can know something about this?
Maybe I misunderstood what you are asking. What do you mean by "wrong
address"? If you mean can courier be configured to accept mail for
addresses that don't exist on that server, then Yes, it can be.
Although if the server is exposed to the internet then I wouldn't advise
it. You'll get spammed out of existence.
If by "wrong address" you mean one that isn't a routeable internet email
address, like "user" or "user@domain" (instead of "us...@domain.com")
then No, courier cannot be configured to accept addresses like that. It
requires fully qualified domain names for all mail or it won't accept
the address. There are some patches out there (I think) that will turn
off this behavior, but you have to patch and recompile courier to get
it. There are no options for this.
