Jeff, thanks for the reply. The only couriertls that I have is located in /usr/local/bin - is this correct?

May be, may be not. Courier does not install anything in /usr/local/bin by default.

Sam, it's possible I supplied paths other than the default in the essence of administration, but I certainly didn't expect to find it there. So, this is why asking..

Either you've installed a pre-packaged Courier build, in which case your packaging questions should be directed wherever the package came from.

Or you've supplied additional configure script options which install binaries in /usr/local/bin, in which case you should be able to answer your own questions.

Unfortunately, I didn't realise there were probably packages out there and I rolled my own. It was a long and labourious process, and took at least two attempts before I got to where I am now. Sadly, you're right, I should be able to answer my own question, but since I am learning both linux and the art of installing/running a secure mail server, I am afraid I am not as clued up as I should be..
