Be aware of CSCeb38231 -- if you configure IPSec using tunnel protection profiles (..and if you're not, you should -- much, much cleaner), then you'll lose support for GRE keepalives. Besides the case Rikard mentioned, it'd be nice to be able to monitor interface status rather than digging through neighbor states...
