Some extra information I forgot to mention the first time. When I ran configure
I got no notice of errros but did notice that whenever it checked for a working
makeinfo it would say that it was missing (not sure how important this is).
Also I get the error described in the first message when making courier 0.37.3
and I got the following error when attempting a make on courier 0.37.3.20020317:

Making all in soxwrap make[1]: Entering directory `/courier-0.37.3.20020317/soxwrap' cd . && automake --foreign --include-deps Makefile cd . \ && CONFIG_FILES=Makefile CONFIG_HEADERS= /bin/sh ./config.status creating Makefile make[1]: Leaving directory `/courier-0.37.3.20020317/soxwrap' make[1]: Entering directory `/courier-0.37.3.20020317/soxwrap' gcc-DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -I.. -I./.. -g -02 -c soxfuncnames.c gcc-DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -I.. -I./.. -g -02 -c soxwrap.c soxwrap.c:114:36: libsock5confdir.h: No such file or directory make[1]: *** [soxwrap.o] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/courier-0.37.3.20020317/soxwrap' make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

Can anyone make sense of either of these error messages???

Hello,

I am attempting to install courier-0.37.3 on a Mandrake 8.1 server. I run the
command ./configure --bindir=/bin --sbindir=/sbin --with-mailuser=courier
--with-mailgroup=courier --enable-https. The configure runs without error. I
than attempt make which runs fine until it reaches the following point and then
errors out:

creating Makefile make[1]: Leaving directory `/courier-0.37.3/maildir' make[1]: Entering directory `/courier-0.37.3/maildir' gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -g -02 -Wall -I./ .. -I.. -c
autoresponse.c autoresponse.c:7:38: autoresponseguota.h: No such file or directory make[1]: *** [autoresponse.o] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/courier-0.37.3/maildir' make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

My system has gcc 2.96 and make 3.79 if this is of any help.

Thank you in advance
