I currently have courier 0.28.1 setup on my RedHat Linux 6.2 machine, using sqwebmail and IMAP with qmail-style virtual mail accounts, all hosted under one system account. Everything seems to be working fine, in general.

One thing I noticed though, when playing with sqwebmail, is that mail sent from the webmail program has a From: address of the format

jo@machinename.mydomain.com; on behalf of; Joe User [jo@mydomain.com]

So my research led me to believe that creating a "defaultdomain" configuraiton file containing just "mydomain.com" would correct this. And it did.

However, after creating that (and re-running makealiases, as the docs say), any attempts to send an email to jo@mydomain.com result in a "550 User Unknown" response.

Am I missing some step required to allow sending from sqwebmail and accepting via esmtpd?

Sorry if this is documented; I looked and couldn't find an answer.

Thanks.
