I think I did not make it clear. This is what I want to achieve:

(1) Users who have a pop3 account can use our smtp relay from anywhere, but only after authentication. (2) Anyone can send us email to all the domains we host, without need for authentication. (3) A backup server can relay all messages to the main server (this server).
