I've got a (non-mission-critical) application which is a dog. I didn't write it, so there's not much I can do to improve performance. Is MySQL 4.0 noticeably faster than 3.2x? What's the current consensus regarding stability? Like I say, the application (web log analyzer) isn't critical - still, I'd like to avoid corrupted databases and indexes if possible. It tends to take a bit of work and a lot of CPU time to re-import several months worth of logs for 150 web sites.

Thanks, Jim
