I want to know if perforce allows to rename a depot directory. If so, how exactly is it done? I want to estimate how difficult or easy it is to do that. By renaming i mean that, it should be able to preserve the history.

I wanted to know how perforce can let a developer to version a software binary executable that we ship to customer.i.e, if I installed a software version of our product will i be able to know its version info i.e 2.0 or so, just by looking at the executable? If so, how can i relate between the build labels we generate for perforce source code checkins and labling an executable for version info that goes out to customer?
