"he was directed to these sites" isn't an answer. these guys should tell him why they rejct mail or should get out of the internet. saying "I am rejecting you because you are listed on foo.blahblah" isn't acceptable. They mus know why foo.blahblah lists people, they must agree with its listing policy, they must agree with its implementation, and more, they must be able to defend it without refering to foo.blahblah.
