Can someone explain/name the iso-*, cp866-* and koi8-* fonts?

iso means ISO8859-1 code table cp866 means IBM Code Page 866 code table koi8 means KOI8-R code table (RFC1489)

And the purpose of the 8x14 fonts?

And the differences between the "", "b" and "c" versions of the 866 and koi8 fonts?
