This is the situation I have a mail server, running on Linux Mandrake 8.1 I have installed and configured postfix it places the mails in
/home/user/maildir That part works ok. I have installed the lates rpms of courier courier-imap-1.3.12.20011123-3mdk.i586.rpm courier-imap-ldap-1.3.12.20011123-3mdk.i586.rpm courier-imap-pop-1.3.12.20011123-3mdk.i586.rpm the tarballs wouldn't install, missed some files, very strange, but no errors
with these rpms.

courier starts when bootup. In /etc/imapd i placed authmodules="authdaemon" when i try to recieve the messages i sent with my windows machine using outlook.
i get the windows to enter correct username/password. it won't accept the ones i
use to login mandrake as user. So i tried to change authmodules="authdaemon" to authmodules="authpwd" and even
to authmodules="authshadow" but when i do that i get errors of outlook that it can't connect to imap server i want to use LDAP also for central adressbook. but i only have openldap
libraries installed which were standard with mandrake. I don't have slapd. But first i want it to get working to send and recieve mail from my windows
machine. sending goes ok, it comes in the maildir/ directory. but something
isn't working in courier. or it won't work, or it says bad username/password.

What is wrong? i can't find it in any help document of the courier sites. Please help Thanx in Advanced
