Hi Gen,

The evolution of the GTFS format is driven by the group of existing feed publishers and developers that use it. Future extensions are designed with an eye towards backwards-compatibility, with the goal that feed publishers will only need to modify their process if they want to take advantage of new extensions.

Hello,

I just found out about the existence of the Google Transit Trip Planner. This is really great! Actually, I had the idea to make it myself :D but since the project is already started, and for a while now!, I'll just follow along.

I wanted to know what is the maturity of the feed specification? Is it likely to change a lot, so that agencies will need to modify the "feeding procedure". Or is it rather fixed. Let's say I want to encourage my province's agencies to share their data with Google Transit, can I tell them that it is a one-time process or will they always need to change the format of their data every three months?

Thank you
