I have the same problem. :-( Yes, I thought it could be resolved by using mm's driver... I'm a bit anxious about this problem as I use it to store pre-rendered images of maps in my GIS application database. And storing 64 Kb images involves a lot of overhead.

Can you look at jdbctest1c.java and jdbctest1d.java in my test directory? I know these progs work on my machine. (you will have to change the url's and put some large binary file as jdbctestbinary1 -- I like to use mysqld myself).
