It looks like the problem is hidden geometry (the lines are the same
as those that appear if I enable hidden geometry) but i double checked
and Hidden Geometry is toggled off (it is not checked in the view
menu). Any idea why this might be happening? Thanks for all the

By any chance are the random lines dashed? If that's the case, you
are seeing Hidded Geometry.
Toggle off Hidden Geometry and don't forget to refresh the Scene
settings.
