I have an issue whereby clients are unable to connect to Courier Imap with the error that there are too many connections from their IP. I have changed the following parameter as follows: MAXPERIP=40 in the imapd file. I restarted courier imap, but still the same problem. It is particularly apparent with Outlook clients, less so with Thunderbird. I don't know what that might matter. Particularly strange is that on one Windows 2000 terminal server using Outlook 2000, for some clients Outlook has issues, for others it doesn't. Also if I use the credentials of the clients that have issues and enter them into Outlook in say my session, it works.

Thanks for any insights.

System: FreeBSD 6.2 Courier-imap v. 4.3
