I have no idea how to program plugins for the Google Desktop, and don't even know if this would be possible, but here is my two part idea. 1) Monitoring of your current network info (i.e. connection name, status, ip address, ect...) for all network interfaces 2) (and this i don't know if is possible) an option for preset ip settings, in case you often need to swap from a DHCP address to a static address...it would be nice to be able to select 'static address 1' or something and it will set your ip for you, then select 'dhcp address' and it renews from the dhcp....anyway, if you know whether this is possible or feel up to doing it, you have my full support and gratitude!
