I had the same problem with my gadget (http://www.google.com/ig/directory?url=http://lrlucena.googlepages.co...). After one month waiting for an automatic classification I decided to suggest one. I placed the following attributes inside the ModulePrefs tag: category="communication" category2="tools". When Google updated the directory list my gadget appeared in the suggested categories.
