I have a ton of platforms to deal with, multipled by two workstations in the office and one at home (with ADSL) plus a (Linux) laptop (that I carry around without ever powering off!) with a dozen xterms and tkp4's running on each that I never exit from...etc!

Some of these share a workspace on a file server, but some are unique.

Anyway, for the shared workspace I set the host field of the clientspec to one machine and do all the sync/edit/submits from there and I no longer get myself confused.

Sounds like good advice. I'm now sharing the source but just using one platform to do the perforce bit.

Cheers for that.

Colin.
