I still don't see the link to add the Friends Gadget or the Profile Editor - there are instructions on working with Friends and Profile data once it is added, but I don't see the gadgets.

Hi Danny,

Thanks for pointing this out. Hopefully I can get those links fixed quickly.

In the meantime, you can add the developer tools by following the directions here: http://code.google.com/apis/igoogle/docs/igoogledevguide.html#dev_env.

Just FYI, two of the links (steps 3 and 5) on the Getting Started guide are broken:http://code.google.com/apis/igoogle/docs/gs.html

So, is there another way to add the developer tools/gadgets (other than step 3 above) to our sandbox page? Searching the directory yielded nothing.

Hello everyone,

As some of you may have heard, iGoogle has launched a developer sandbox (http://google.com/ig/sandbox). The sandbox sports a new interface, as well as support for the OpenSocial and gadgets.* JavaScript APIs. For more information about trying the new sandbox, check out the getting started guide (http://code.google.com/apis/ igoogle/docs/gs.html).

Many of you probably have questions about how the future of gadgets, and how the sandbox and the new features will affect existing gadgets. In short, existing gadgets and the older version of the gadgets API are still supported, and will remain supported for the foreseeable future.

I'd also like to draw attention to the new iGoogle Developer Blog (http://igoogledeveloper.blogspot.com/), which will provide information on developer-facing changes, iGoogle updates, and the addition of new features.

With that said, I encourage everyone to give the sandbox a try, and to let me know what you think.

Best, Dan
