Hello,

We are trying the AS400 client and are getting the impression that it is something of an orphan - limited (effectively no) platform documentation - Perforce trying to get answers from customers and so on.

When trying to sync with the following client: X----------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------X Client: AS400_1 Update: 2003/02/06 17:40:29 Access: 2003/02/06 17:44:22 Owner: PERFORCE Host: AS400_1 Description: Created by PERFORCE. Root: /QSYS.LIB/DETAILP4.LIB/ Options: noallwrite noclobber nocompress unlocked nomodtime normdir LineEnd: local View: <file://depot/detail/main/source/dtlbase/%1.c> //depot/detail/main/source/dtlbase/%1.c <file://AS400_1/C.FILE/%1.MBR> //AS400_1/C.FILE/%1.MBR X----------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------X we get the following response:

X----------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------X open for write: /QSYS.LIB/DETAILP4.LIB/C.FILE/program.MBR: The value specifie d for the argument is not correct.

Looking at the AS400 "joblog" provides the following additional information:

We are unable to determine what the view statement should be to copy files *.c (& *.h plus others) from the PC server to the AS400 client. When we do this manually via FTP we use a statement similar to put program.c c.program. Can you advise what the format of this should be.

P4 INFO shows the following: X----------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------X User name: PERFORCE Client name: AS400_1 Client host: AS400_1 Client root: /QSYS.LIB/DETAILP4.LIB/ Current directory: / Client address: 192.168.16.34:6746 Server address: perforce:1666 Server root: /perforce Server date: 2003/02/06 17:54:04 +0000 GMT Server version: P4D/LINUX24X86/2002.2/39452 (2002/12/26) Server license: Striva Technology Ltd 40 users (expires 2003/03/01) X----------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------X

Also, we would like to change some of the "environment variables" on the AS400 (port number / editor etc). How do we achieve this?
