I'm trying to get started using mySQL with PHP. I've installed the Apache web server and PHP successfully; however, I'm unable to install mySQL. The installer gets up to 100% and then promptly generates an error and closes. What's worse is that when I attempt to uninstall, I get another error that claims Uninst.isu has some problems. I've tried installing versions 3.23.49 and 3.23.47. I fear that this is some freak problem with my computer (I'm running Windows 2000), but if anyone has had a similar problem, or knows what's happening, I'd really appreciate some help.

The error I get looks like this: _INS5176._MP.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created.

There's no file called _INS5176._MP.exe on my computer.
