That's fine for developers (for developers by developers), but when you need PDFs and properly formatted FrameMaker books (for both online and print media), life becomes a bit harder.

The documentation systems out there that I've touched aren't very Perforce-friendly. (RoboHelp is a nightmare...FrameMaker is tolerable)

Check out DocBook (www.docbook.org) -- basically an XML format with numerous output formats including PDF.

There's also a DocBook doclet for Java folks.
