You've specified an invalid *system* user in your master.cf transport. You specified user vmail. Does this user exist on your system (e.g. /etc/passwd) and during maildrop compile, did you include this user as a trusted user? If not, things will not work anyway.

I am as sure as I can be that the vmail is working OK, /etc/passwd looks good and courier-imap is running as vmail (which works if I don't use maildrop).

I am going to recompile maildrop tomorrow and see how I go (see prev msg re Berkley Db support). Thanks, Brett
