Subject:[courier-users] ESMTP-Auth problem

Hi!

I´m using courier 0.34 with Debian/unstable. I have set in /ets/esmtpd: AUTHMODULES="authuserdb" ESMTPAUTH="LOGIN"

/var/log/mail.log tells me: May 30 11:44:22 technik courieresmtpd: started,ip=[::ffff:192.168.1.62] May 30 11:44:22 technik courieresmtpd: error,relay=::ffff:192.168.1.62,msg="535 Authentication failed.",cmd: AUTH LOGIN May 30 11:44:24 technik courierpop3login: Connection, ip=[::ffff:192.168.1.62] May 30 11:44:24 technik courierpop3login: LOGIN, user=use@test-intern.de, ip=[::ffff:192.168.1.62] May 30 11:44:24 technik courierpop3login: LOGOUT, user=use@test-intern.de, ip=[::ffff:192.168.1.62], top=0, retr=0

As you can see, POP3 works. This makes me wonder since it uses the the same userdb. AUTH_REQUIRED=0 if that is important. Outlook-Express is the client.

smtpaccess has only one line: 127.0.0.1 allow,RELAYCLIENT

All .dats have been re-'make'ed and the mta has been restarted.

thanks marksu

P.S.: I´ve done a writeup of all my (newbie) problems and solutions which I will post if this is finished
