Hello,

I am subscriber to the Eventum Users community.

I am interested in trying out your Eventum Defect Tracking Tool.

I read the Wiki page (http://eventum.mysql.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page) giving details about Eventum, but it didn't clarify all queries of mine regarding Eventum.

Please clarify if Eventum has the following features:-

1. User Interface should be Web Browser Based ANS: 100% Yes

2. Should support configurable workflow per release or project or customer ANS: Per Project Workflows, YES. Not Sure about Per Customer. But I guess that the Customer Logic could be coded in the workflow itself

3. Should support access control for work flow ANS: As far as I know, we can write code as part of the workflow itself, to define the required Access Controls

4. Should support user and group access control ANS: Eventum supports a simplistic User-based Access Controls, through predefined User Roles. Group Access Control, I am not sure. I had problems with it when I was playing with it

5. Should seamlessly support addition of custom field ANS: 100% Yes

6. Administration of custom field should be web based ( field type and the data can be modified ) ANS: 100% Yes

7. Should seamless support integration with different source versioned control systems ANS: Although I have not played with this feature, the docs say that we could have our own SCM backend or something like that

8. Should support system wide as well as user defined queries from DTS DB.

9. Option should be allowed to save user defined queries

10. Should be able to send Email notification to users as configured in the Work Flow ANS: 100% Yes

11. Support for both dynamic Report Genaration as well as use defined Reports and Charts

12. Option should be allowed to save user defined queries for Reports and Charts

13. Should allow integration with Test and schedule management tools

14. Should support requirement tracking and change management ANS: Not aware of any direct support for this. But what we are doing in our org. especially for Requirements Tracking & Mgmt. is that each and every Requirement is tracked as an Issue

15. Bulk upload of Bugs via email / flat file ( xml based )

16. Database being used by DTS should be scalable ( preferably SQL based ) ANS: the backend DB is MySQL and till date I have not found anything related to scalability in the Eventum forums

17. Optional: The DTS support multi site

18. Cost of the Software ANS: Eventum is 100% GPL-ed Open Source

19. Warranty Support ANS: Open Source hence it is only the community. Not sure of any special services from MySQL or any other vendor to provide for support

20. After warranty support ( extended Maintenance )

21. License ANS: See Ans for #18

22. OS supported ANS: Any OS that can host a WebServer+PHP+MySQL combination. Linux and Windows definitely Yes

23. Email interface support
