I have written a plugin for indexing Opera8 mails (http://sourceforge.net/projects/gdsmboxindexer/). It works fine for me, however I usually change the mail storage directory to a seperate drive. If I use Opera's default mail directory under C:\Documents and Settings\>user>\Application Data\Opera\Opera8\Mail\storage I won't get any crawler notifications and hence the plugin does not index anything :(

According to another post GoogleDektopCrawl won't send any notifications for files in C:\Documents and Settings\>user>\Application Data. Is there any way around this? How do other plugins get around this limitation_

Someone mentioned the 'file change notification API'. What kind of API is that and how does it work? Where could I find an example for this?
