As Michael said. However, I recommend looking at two WordPress plugins, BadBehavior [1] and Referrer Bouncer[2].

The winning question is "how can software tell the difference between spam and legitimate content?"

There are all kinds of schemes, from blacklists and whitelists, to authentication mechanisms to bayesian filtering, etc.

Ain't nuthin' perfect.

I'm not sure what's specifically available for blogger though.

I was wondering, from a development standpoint, how hard is it to block comment spam? Because I just got my first comment spam... that either says my blog is finally popular, or Blogger's spam blocker failed me.
