Hm,

as long as you can access the mailing functionality through a webapp (like through a webmail client), you can use webtest to test against this.

sending and reading e-mail is usually a fundamental part on a website. i need to check sending an email, and getting it on the other side. oh! OK, it is isochronous ... what does webtest say about that? doest it fit on it?
