I've had this problem too. For me, this works as follows:

It is both in 0.39.2, and 0.39.3. The spin is somewhere in rfc1035an.c, and has something to do with formatting an ip6 address for display.

It can be circumvented by setting --without-ipv6 on the configure.

Mitchell: hope this solves your problem

no such luck

Apparently something changed in the ipv6 setup, as I know this used to work on my old box. Alas, I cannot figure out the differences, one of the disks died.

I did get courier to stop the courieresmtp race condition by rolling back to version 0.39.1 works fine except I could not get it to find mysql and cannot seam to get postgresql to authincate
