_IG_FetchContent does actually timeout, but it doesn't execute the
callback function when it does so. I believe the timeout occurs after
about 5 seconds. Independently, the proxy that caches data will also
timeout, and I believe the timeout is higher (10 seconds?). If your
_IG_FetchContent call doesn't return, calling it again with the same
URL should return the content if the proxy retrieved it successfully.
However, if the proxy has timed out (if you server takes longer than
10 seconds to generate the page), then the _IG_FetchContent call will
never return.
I believe the current timeout was set for performance reasons and it's
unlikely to support custom timeouts for developers. My suggestion
would be to lower the time it takes for the server to generate
whatever content you're trying to fetch.
