What are the correct settings to get full 5.1... if it helps I am on 9-CURRENT (i386) w/ ASUS M4A78-EM (AMD3 780H/SB700) with no cards except for the nvidia 8600gt I have
I don't see problems in your pin configuration. Make sure you have enabled 5.1/7.1 mixing in vchans using dev.pcm.0.play.vchanformat sysctl.
after playing with it for a while I got all the front speakers to play but none of the back ones (could this because one of the back ones is inoprative [the connector is physically broken])
