Turn on the OE IMAP log in Options->Maintenance->Troubleshooting and make see what it says. That'll log the entire IMAP transaction, which will tell you if it is truly logging in and whether there is a problem with the folder configuration or anything like that.

Thank you very much for your help. In true microsoft fashion, closing and restarting the client fixed my problems :)
