You only need this u/g kit (WS-6509-NEB-UPGRD=) if you are using sup720. Otherwise, it is not required. In any case, the two chassis are exactly the same, just different branding.

Does any-one know why one couldn't use a ws-c6509-neb instead of a cisco7609.. they take the same cards, fans, supervisors etc.. Is there something I'm missing??? or am I getting dragged into some cunning marketing ploy???.
