So I changed config file slightly to fit my needs and I'm getting this message in maillog:

where config file permissions are: mx1# ls -al /etc/maildropldap.config -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4866 May 19 12:37 /etc/maildropldap.config

So is authdaemon supposed to run?

You have to install the Courier authlib package first, yes. It's also necessary for the Newer Courier IMAP releases.

Please reply on list and not to me personally. Other people may benefit.
