I have experianced the same problem upgrading 1.7 to 2.01.
It was working fine in 1.7 I followed all instuctions on the upgrade and it seemed ok, but then my replies stopped being forwarded onto the notification list, but they would be seen in the associated emails section, just never sent back out. But if I created a message/reply from with in the eventum site it would work correctly.
I sent a couple of mails into the list but got nothing back, so have reverted to the 1.7 backup I had and the emails are working as they were now.
Which is a shame because I now have the blocked emails for reporter replying to the case.....
