Another option would be to dump the database as sql syntax. Most RDBMS give you the option do dump the database in a SQL format.
Im not sure what you mean by a .dbf if this is the file that dbase is using then that is not a dump. Check in your dbase manual look for Dump, or export even backup. It should tell you there how to do a propor dump of the database.

My website is hosted at a (Verio) unix APACHE server. I use Lotus Approach database program that uses dbase (dbf) file format. I would like to use these data files in the server.
Verio installed mySQL in my server. Is it possible to use my data files with mySQL?
