In my organization, we use both dotProject and Eventum. They are not the same. DotProject is a project management application, while Eventum is an issue management application.
Eventum and dotProject are my two most favorite open source applications. They are both truly remarkable.
We use DotProject for any items that require some kind of planning. We use eventum to manage issues that come up unplanned such as bugs and production issues.
You may want to look into the dotProject module that integrates Eventum and dotProject. I do not use it within my organization, but it may prove very useful.
