We want to create our own user interface to Perforce. Actually, several. One would integrate to our build tools, another to our intranet, etc...

When installing the command-line client there is, of course, only the one executable (we're on Linux but that's irrelevant). I'm wondering if there might be a shared or static library available.

So far, we've been forced to invoke 'p4' itself and parse the output but that is tedious, time consuming and error prone. Of course, if somebody has a Perl module that already does all that, we would be eternally grateful!
