Hello everybody, I'm new to this list, just joined yesterday. Anyway, I have a problem. I need to write an application in C++ that connects to a MySQL-database so naturally I downloaded MySQL++. It installed very nicely on my Windows-machine but when I tried to install the Linux-version on my Slackware-machine all I got was a bunch of errors. My MySQL-installation is from the binary-distribution and it has worked great this far. However, I just can't seem to get MySQL++ installed. Somebody told me to go get the Development-RPM from the MySQL-site and install that and that then installing MySQL++ should be no problem. Wrong. I still can't get the thing to install. All I get is a million different errors. I know others have had problems installing MySQL++ on Linux. Will someone PLEASE help me because I really need to get this working SOON. Some easy-to-follow line-by-line-instructions would be very nice, and I don't mean like in the README-file because obviously those instructions did not work for me. I've tried a million different online-forums to no avail so I'm getting very desperate here.
I've got mysql++ installed on several slackwaresystems, what are the errors, you'll need to supply detailed (preferably copy'n'paste) errorreports. The gibberish you're feeding us now can't really help us track down the error.
Please come again ;-)
