My windows based PHP install led me thru a ton of registry entries. did you make those.

windows needs to be able to associate the PHP ending with the PHP program.

This group help me recently to sort out Mysql and get it up and running ok. Thank you.

These are the places my book told me to put some files.

I extracted php to C:\php4\ my php.ini file moved to C:\WINDOWS\php.ini and my .dll file moved to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\php4ts.dll

I am unable to get a simple phpinfo.php file to work on 'localhost' to test that php is running ok. Although I know this simple file works coz I've tested it on my online server along with other php files.

I remember Joel saying something about my php not being in the default directory but can't locate the message.

When typing this(http://localhost/phpinfo.php)into my browser, all I get is this(Connect.Host localhost contacted.Waiting for reply...) in the task bar but it sits for half an hour and does nothing! Msql works and apache works but the last link is getting Php to work. Someone also said to do something about a myconf file but I understood that to be for NT only. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I also have not altered the php.ini file in any way as the book did not say to do so. The only file I adjusted was Apache http.conf as per book's instructions.

Does anyone have any suggestions to help get Php running please?

Chris
