Just as a side note here... I have never, ever had a SCSI DAT drive that didn't cause problems with my other devices. I always put those things on their own SCSI bus. It may or may not be related to your problem.
For what it's worth, I've had the exact opposite experience. +--------------- | ahc0 <Adaptec aic7880 Ultra SCSI host adapter> rev 0 int a irq 11 on pci0:13:0 | ahc0: aic7880 Wide Channel, SCSI Id=7, 16 SCBs | (ahc0:0:0): "IBM DORS-32160W WA6A" type 0 fixed SCSI 2 | (ahc0:1:0): "CONNER CFP2107E 2.14GB 1524" type 0 fixed SCSI 2 | (ahc0:2:0): "IBM DGHS09Y 03E0" type 0 fixed SCSI 3 | (ahc0:5:0): "HP HP35480A T603" type 1 removable SCSI 2 | (ahc0:6:0): "RICOH CD-R/RW MP7040S 1.10" type 5 removable SCSI 2 +---------------
All work perfectly.
