I had the same problem with version 1,5 with a similar configuration [on 2 machines]. The solution was replacing '%' with 'localhost' on MySQL 'eventum' user settings. I kown this should'nt change much, but after that everything worked ... I didn't investigate more to see if it was related to eventum or to the server config. Hope it helps.
