I am trying to get MySQL cluster to work within a chroot environment.
I already have my MySQL server running out of /chroot/mysql/ with no problems at all.
I have created /chroot/mysql/var/lib/mysql-cluster/config.ini and tried to start my management daemon with the following command to no avail:
chrootuid /chroot/mysql mysql /usr/sbin/ndb_mgmd --config-file=/var/lib/mysql-cluster/config.ini
I have also tried to run it as root within chroot just to see if that would work, also to no avail (I did create a root user in /chroot/mysql/etc/..)
Has anyone managed to get the ndb_mgmd and ndbd daemons running in a chroot environment? It is possible? I think that I managed it once - it seemed to start, but by the time I had installed both storage nodes in a chroot enviroment I could not get my management daemon to start again! Very frustrating.
It clearly is a problem with the chroot, because for example the following command starts it fine:
chrootuid / root /usr/sbin/ndb_mgmd --config-file=/chroot/mysql/var/lib/mysql-cluster/config.ini
although of course this is starting it as root which is not ideal :)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks,
Alex Davies
