Thanks guys - Actually Tibor, that "kind of" fixed it. We can now access and ammend issues via the update button, so we can survive for now.

The new issue that has been introduced is some script that appears on the Update page in the Associated Issues field sitting between the select box and the icon - the following text appears on screen.

File Error!', 'update_form', 'associated_issues[]', true), STICKY, HEIGHT, 50, WIDTH, 250, BELOW, RIGHT, CLOSECOLOR, '#FFFFFF', FGCOLOR, '#FFFFFF', BGCOLOR, '#000000', CAPTION, 'Lookup Details', CLOSECLICK);" onMouseOut="javascript:nd();">

It is part of this HTML code for the select box <a title="lookup issues by their summaries" href="javascript:void(null);" onClick="return overlib(getOverlibContents('<MM:BeginLock translatorClass="SMARTY_INCLUDE" type="smartyInclude" orig="%7Binclude%20file=%22lookup_layer.tpl.html%22%20list=$assoc_issues%20m ultiple=1%7D">File Error!<MM:EndLock>', 'update_form', 'associated_issues[]', true), STICKY, HEIGHT, 50, WIDTH, 250, BELOW, RIGHT, CLOSECOLOR, '#FFFFFF', FGCOLOR, '#FFFFFF', BGCOLOR, '#000000', CAPTION, 'Lookup Details', CLOSECLICK);" onMouseOut="javascript:nd();"><img src="/images/lookup.gif" border="0"></a>

To be honest, we can do what we need to , so I am not too fussed, but would be good to get this error off the screen.

Have you seen this one?

Andrew,

I guess your problem is very similar to my experience: click Update button fails loading the new screen, somewhere around the Expected resolution date field the new page stops loading due to memory allocation error, ie running out of memory. Myself and others on this forum found that the calculation of the list of the years runs ouf of range and tries to fill in the drop down list with thousands of entries as opposed to a few items. See thread http://lists.mysql.com/eventum-users/3465

To get over I hacked update_form.tpl.html at line 216 (Eventum ver 1.6.1): chnage start_year=$expected_resolution_start_year to start_year="2005"

Hi Andrew

Do your issues contain huge amounts of data? ;) Anyhow, can you increase the allowed memory size, to get your Eventum working while you (or someone else) tries to fix the actual problem?

We have had eventum working quite well on a linux box running PHP4 for some time but recently have had to upgrade to PHP5. After making the upgrade, a quick look at eventum suggested it was working fine, however I soon discovered that when you click the update issue button on an issue, only half of the screen would show. After setting the error filters in in the config file, the following appears in the expected resolution date field (which is otherwise empty).

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 128 bytes) in /~path_to_web_files~/include/Smarty/plugins/shared.escape_special_char s.php on line 22

phpinfo() confirms that the memory limit is set to 64Mb, so can anyone explain why it is failing with the above error?

NB - The affect of the problem is that we cant update or re-assign any issues in the system except where you click the "assign this issue to myself" button - in our case we have a central person receiving all support requests then allocating them out, which they now can not do.

Any help appreciated.
