Please keep replies on the list. That's not the error you showed in your
first message. Where you trying to issue other commands after the login
failed? Obviously they would fail if the login failed. What
authentication backend are you using? Have you tried just "a01 login
dappleton password (no @domain.com). What do the logs say (particularly
/var/log/maillog) Have you tried increasing the debugging in authdaemon
by setting DEBUG_LOGIN=2 in /etc/authlib/authdaemonrc?
