I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce Milton Smith, who has joined the Java SE PM team with the specific focus area of Java Security (which includes not only dev features, but the deployment and runtime side and related policies). Milton comes with a solid history of security experience ranging from startups through to enterprise end users and through to high end web/cloud.

Milton, I'd like to introduce you to the JUGS and related Champions list. These are passionate lists with passionate people who are not afraid to tell us how they'd like things done. It's an invaluable resource to use carefully.

Milton, see below - I think it would be useful within the next couple weeks to perhaps outline some of the benefits, challenges and goals of doing silent updates in the Java context (i.e., enterprise end users versus home end users versus server deployments), and bounce to this group for some feedback.
