Hi all,
The p4 client behaves strangely when I have a symlinked directory in my view.
For instance, here's my p4 client:
Root: /home/jcej
View: //depot/projects/foobar/... //jcej-tragus/projects/foobar/...
For space reasons, /home/jcej/projects is a symlink to /home/jcej/aux/projects
where /home/jcej/aux is a symlink to /var/home/jcej. (Spaghetti, I know.)
That is: /home/jcej Real directory /home/jcej/aux -> /var/home/jcej /home/jcej/projects -> aux/projects /var/home/jcej Real directory /var/home/jcej/projects Real Directory
p4 sync seems quite happy with the arrangement but p4 add is upset:
cd ~/projects/foobar
create and edit README
p4 add REAME
Path '/var/home/jcej/projects/foobar/README' is not under client's root
'/home/jcej'.
rearranged and the symlinks cleaned up. Still... we don't want folks to have to
change their clients everytime we need to make some quick changes.
Any ideas?
Thanks, J
