Hello,

I am using maildrop with a number of filter rules to sort incoming email into various mailboxes. It works like a charm for my new email that I download with fetchmail.

However, I have many old, unsorted mailboxes from before I started using maildrop. Some of these mailboxes are maildir and some are mbox.

Can anyone recommend a utility with which I can run these old mailboxes through maildrop in order to sort their contents?

Thank you,

For the mbox files do this:

reformail -s maildrop < mbox_file

Be aware that you will loose the date received info if you do this. To preserve it you will need to parse the From_ header, convert it to epoch time, and name the maildir file appropriately. I *just* went through this.
