Is there anyone out there using Perforce for distributed development?
When you say "distributed", do you mean that:
1. the developers are geographically distributed?
Or do you mean that
2. the depot is geographically distributed?
If its simply #1 you're looking for, then one of the most distributed
and most well known uses of Perforce for distributed development would
be "Perl." The Perl 5 porters have been using Perforce for Perl 5
development for about a year now and are having great success.
In fact, a write-up of some of that occurred in the most recent issue
of "The Perl Journal" (TPJ, see www.tpj.com) in an article which
described some of the upcoming changes in the now Beta-release version
of Perl 5.005 and how some of the development effort was organized.
Cheers!
